Fatherhood program support is available for fathers and male caregivers in Miami-Dade and Broward County through Be Strong International's Father First program.
Being a father is one of the most important roles in a child's life. It can also come with real challenges, from communication and discipline to co-parenting, work-life balance, child support, and rebuilding family connections. Father First was created to help fathers and male caregivers gain practical tools, steady support, and the confidence to build stronger relationships with their children.
Be Strong International and its Parent Services Division offer Father First as a free Nurturing Fathers Program for eligible fathers and male caregivers. The program includes a 13-week series of in-person group sessions, with each session lasting 2 hours. Through this supportive parenting course for dads, participants learn how to strengthen positive interactions with their children, practice healthy parenting habits, and create meaningful changes at home.

A Nurturing Fathers Program to Support Every Stage of Fatherhood
Father First is a nurturing fathers program designed to meet fathers where they are. Whether you are a new dad, a father of teenagers, a male caregiver, a co-parent, or a father working to reconnect after a difficult season, this program offers guidance in a respectful group setting.
Participants receive parenting support and education that focuses on everyday situations fathers face. Sessions are designed to help fathers build self-awareness, improve communication, strengthen family relationships, and develop parenting skills that support children from birth through age 17.
The program incorporates Be Strong International's Heart Skills® framework, which helps individuals and families build healthier relationships through practical tools, reflection, and positive action.
What Fathers Will Learn
Father First gives fathers and male caregivers the opportunity to grow in key areas of parenting, family connection, and personal development.
Our services include:
- Group parenting support, coaching, and education
- Workshops in English and Spanish
- Referral services

Parenting Course for Dads in Miami-Dade and Broward
Father First is available to eligible participants who live in Miami-Dade or Broward County. The parenting course for dads is offered in person and provides a consistent space for fathers and male caregivers to learn, connect, and grow over 13 consecutive weeks.
Each 2-hour session gives participants time to discuss parenting topics, practice skills, ask questions, and receive support from facilitators and other fathers. The group format helps participants understand that they are not alone in the challenges of fatherhood.

Who Is Eligible for the Fatherhood Program?
To join Father First, participants must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Live in Miami-Dade County or Broward County
- Be a father or male caregiver
- Have children between the ages of 0 and 17
- Be able to commit to the full 13-week program
- Attend weekly 2-hour in-person and/or virtual sessions consecutively
